Indian Maritime University (IMU) conducts IMU-CET (Common Entrance Test) for admissions various programmes offered by IMU campuses and its affiliated institutes. The Online Common Entrance Test (CET) is for candidates seeking admission for the following Academic Year.

About the program:

IMU-CET is conducted for taking admission to Diploma in Nautical Science in respect of students who have been sponsored by shipping companies.

All the eligible candidates are requested to apply through prescribed format with following documents at the time of Online Application Form before Friday 11th May 2018 (IMU CET 2018).

1. a) Scanned copy of the passport size photograph.
2. b) Scanned copy of the signature of the candidate.
3. c) Scanned copy of 10th Standard Mark Sheet or equivalent in support of Date of Birth
4. d) Scanned copy of 12th Standard Mark Sheet (wherever applicable).
5. e) Scanned copy of UG Degree Certificate (wherever applicable).
6. f) Community Certificate in respect of SC/ST/OBC (NCL) candidates

Candidates need not submit any hard copy of the application to IMU.

Special Instructions for candidates registering for BBA (Logistics, Retailing and E-Commerce) program for whom there is no CET:

Application Fee:

The application fee will be Rs. 1000/- for General category students. SC/ST category students have to pay Rs. 700/-. Candidates have to make payment through online mode. The application fee can be paid through online (credit card/debit card). Candidates note down that the application fee is non-refundable.

(Maritime Science), B.Sc (Ship Building & Repair), Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) leading to B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science), Lateral Entry of DNS completed candidates to B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science)

PG Courses: M.Tech (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering), M.Tech (Dedging & Harbour Engineering), M.Tech (Marine Technology & Management), M.Sc. (Commercial Shipping & Logistics), MBA (Port & Shipping Management), MBA (International Transportation & Logistics Management)

IMU-CET is a Computer based CET exam consisting of 200 Multiple choice questions. Exam duration is of 3 hours. Each question carries one mark .There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for UG & PG marine courses under IMU CET examination are mentioned below:

Marital Status: Unmarried students are eligible to apply.

Age Limit: The maximum age to appear will be 25 years and minimum age limit is 17 years. 5 years of age relaxation will be offered to reserved category students.

Passport Requirement: Students are suggested to make their passport before applying for IMU CET.

PG Courses Qualification: Students must have the graduation degree in the related stream from a recognized university/college.

UG Courses Qualification: Student should have passed the 10+2 examination with PCM and English as a mandatory subject.

Medical Fitness:  Medical fitness certificate approved by Director General of Shipping is necessary.

Appearing  Candidates:  Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination can also apply.

Selection procedure:

Candidates will be selected on the basis of marks obtained in written examination.

IMU-CET SYLLABUS.

The online-CET will consist of 200 multiple choice questions. The multiple choice questions will be set from the following topics: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, General Knowledge and Aptitude at plus 2 level (CBSE, ICSE and state boards).There will be no negative marking

Candidates will be able to download the Hall Ticket/Admit Card

The Online CET will be held in a single shift every year on a particular date and given time.

Chemistry: 25

  Note: Qualifying in IMU-CET Entrance Exam is mandatory to get admission in IMU campuses or IMU Affiliated Institutes in any of the courses mentioned above.
